Well, I've just returned home from quite an eventful day/night at work.
Before I got there, Derrick and Luke were burning leaves in the parking lot. Derrick, alone and unaware Luke had put some dry, unburned leaves in the dumpster, disposed of some ashes into the dumpster. He wonders whether it will be alright but when nothing happens for some time he goes back to raking, only to notice later the dumpster is spewing smoke. He tried to put it but this only made the fire spread, and he realized the fire was melting the dumpster's plastic lid. He lifted the lid to get it away from the flames but this sent the flames higher, singing his hair and burning his arms. Jeez, Derrick! Derrick runs in for help and Luke apparently takes his time about getting out there with a bucket, not expecting the inferno he's greeted with. He apparently says something to the effect of "holy shit! There really is a fire!" And the two proceed to put the fire out with countless buckets of water.
Derrick's and Luke's retellings of this were hilarious. Derrick's put me on the floor with laughter.
I gave Chloe a very long piggy back ride (I even rang up a customer with her clinging to my back!). She also gave me catching lessons. I love ten-year-olds!
My first boyfriend, Justin Crider, came in to the store. We had a brief friendly exchange.
Also there was a very angry man screaming and cussing because he dropped his 12 pack of Corona outside and we wouldn't replace it.
Also a stupid ass hole stole Powerade from us =(
AND Derrick caught a pack of thieves who recently stole some expensive tequila from us.
And to top it all off, an older man and a young girl who is obviously in high school (Woodstock High School hoodie on) come in and Derrick lets the girl use the bathroom. He's walking in front of her so he doesn't notice, but I see she is leaning on the bottles she walked by so I knew something wasn't right with her. While she's in the restroom her dad buys something and then leaves to wait for her. She comes out saying "have you seen my dad?" We point her to her dad, she goes over to him, and says
"HEY DID YOU KNOW THIS IS MY DAD?
CAN YOU BELIEEEVVE HE'S GETTING ME DRRRUUNNKK RIGHT NOW?!"
So we just kind of stare, trying not to laugh. Then she's walking around and knocks a bottle over but it doesn't fall to the ground. Then for some reason her dad saw fit to go back outside? And she said
"THAT'S MY DAD HE'S HERE NOW BUT HE WAS GONE FOR A YEAR I MEAN, CAN YOU CALL THAT A FATHER? A WHOLE YEAR"
And then she COLLAPSES onto the counter CRYING HER HEAD OFF. Derrick goes up to her and rubs her shoulders and asks if she'll be okay. Her dad comes back in and starts dragging her out.
Just before they're out the door, she looks to me and Derrick and shouts
"I LOVE YOU GUYS I'LL SEE YOU NEXT WEEK"

Me: Hello? Caller: Yes, sir. I'm calling on behalf of (such-and-such), wondering if you'd be interested in our new, incredible long-distance plans. Me: I'm sorry, but I don't have a phone. [silence followed by a clicking sound]

Yesterday I bought a new camera to replace my sad broken one. Same camera. I picked it up from Bestbuy today with Donovan. Then I threw a fit because I'm afraid of everything aka driving. Sometimes driving is just the most horrible thing! I'm too old to throw fits. It's okay, though. Donovan kissed me until I felt better and like he'd always love me. I also bought myself some presents.
The presents are Moleskins. I have become obsessed with these magic little books. I bought a three-pack of earthy tan Moleskins which are lined because this beautiful season with all its colorful leaves has made me want to write in a paper journal again. I bought a nice small black Moleskin filled with watercolor paper also.
Jesse and I have decided to become fans of Adam Lambert.
( Watercolor )
I can't wait to take pictures and videos of everything again.

I went to a party nights ago. My first, really. It was joyful, taking in the company- more than I've ever known before. It was painful there was so much. I think it was a lot like appendicitis- at least, what I've read about appendicitis. A terrible pain that I couldn't sit with or anything with, but I smiled without medical aid because I hoped to die in the closeness of friends. But that ended, as everything must.

I'm leaving late for work so I can burn a CD. I'm updating livejournal while I burn the CD. Jesse's birthday was a lot of fun. Campfire, candy, good friends.
I just replaced my camera. It was on sale so I bought it and I'm picking it up tomorrow. I hate spending the money but I miss taking pictures. I owe Donovan a lot of money like a loser but he let me put off paying him back so he could get the camera. I think I can still afford to pay you back, though, baby.
I really don't want to go to work I just do not want to go. The weekend was excellent and I can't believe I have to go back to my mediocre life of working a full time job, doing the same day every day five days in a row. I am automated. Credit or Debit?
The CD is done.

My equilibrium is way off today for some reason. My head feels like it's spinning. Why.
I've still been reading the entries from this day but in the previous years of my livejournal. On October 30 in both 2006 and 2005 I made private entries about Jason. Stupid denial-ridden entries about him, and me beating myself up when really, I should have been beating him up. In a public entry in 2005, Molly asked in a comment "Wait, are you and Jason going out?" to which I replied "no, no, no. We're just good friends." Which was a LIE I was forced to tell because he wanted to keep me his secret. 90% of the three years we spent together was a secret, though not a well kept one. I knew about all the other girls he fooled around with but none of them knew about me. Creepy! The other night he was behind me on the interstate and he must have noticed it was me (or he just drives like a total ass all the time) because he sped up behind me and swerved around only just in time to not ram into me.
Yesterday my mom and I tried to tight sew my white pants for my costume. Without a proper sewing machine this proved difficult, and one leg got all messed up and so I was out one pair of white pants for my costume! But last night after work I ventured to Walmart and found the exact same pants, but straight legged! A little big for me but they fit all right. I still need freaking white suspenders but I can't find them anywhere =(

! Now furrow'd o'er With wrinkles, plough'd by moments, not by years And hours--all tortured into ages--hours Which I outlive!--Ye toppling crags of ice! Ye avalanches, whom a breath draws down In mountainous o'erwhelming, come and crush me-- I hear ye momently above, beneath, Crash with a frequent conflict; but ye pass, And only fall on things that still would live;

The drive to work this morning was exceptional. I drove my car through my neighborhood, a blur of dripping colors. Everything so damp it should have been dreary, but instead the wetness seemed to have saturated the world with color. The leaves suddenly intense and warm before they disappear, brown and crunchy on the ground and then gone. A fog clung to the grass which stretched through various fields, light gray concealing bright green. Along highway 20, I see a field shrouded in fog but dappled with big blurry cow bodies. I try to see mystery in the moist, dense air above the field: the cows are strange creatures in an entirely foreign land, and I'm a traveling explorer trying to understand these new beasts. It's hard, though, when instead of walking slowly along the tree line by the field, pushing aside a big green leaf to catch a better glimpse of the landscape and its animals, I am driving to work in a long line of other people driving to work. When I get on the on-ramp to the highway, the fog looks like a big gray wall, like I am about to smash into an enormous and solid wall. I wish momentarily it is a wall, but not one I'll be crushed against, one which instead will deliver me through it onto an Other Side of adventure, where the world is always colorful and I'm never one of many in a line of dull people driving to work.
Instead I got to work late because of traffic, enjoyed a slow but easy day, and left to go over to Tyler's and watch Shucky Darn's band practice. Joey and Nikki were also there. In the loudness of the music, Nikki and I couldn't talk so instead we passed notes back and forth and played hangman in my sketchbook. The notes ended up being about a dinosaur who was a magician and who will follow Nikki and Joey to Korea when they go. It was notably awesome to see Joey reunited with his old band, and he played a few songs with them. Tyler, Jesse, and Joey together are an awesome thing. Their chemistry is remarkable.
I left Tyler's to go to the gym where I moved my body/lifted weights for one hour while listening to hip hop in a class. I did several push-ups, something I previously could not do. I feel great but man was that class hard. I'm replacing my Wednesday yoga class with this class because I want something more challenging. I'm still going to the yoga classes on Monday and Friday, but those classes are much more demanding than the Wednesday class any way. I ran into a regular from work at the gym (this is the fourth one now? Not counting the ones who work there...). This regular sort of followed me before speaking to me, and then to my horror he asked "you used to date Jason, right?" I told him yes I did, and he said Jason used to work out with him there. I quickly spat out "I didn't know Jason was a member of this gym," thinking I'd have to find a new gym, but the man said Jason was never a member, only that he'd "brought him around a few times," but he'd stopped coming when he got his new car. Sweet relief!

Working Monday wasn't so bad. Finished everything quickly and easily. Left at 9:30.
( Public Speaking, Italian, Lit )
Called Dad. ( Dad update ) He's going to call me tomorrow once he finds out what time his surgery is so that I can come visit.
Now, I'm going to put my laundry away and reorganize my books. It's fall, and fall is for books (and bold color crayola markers, but that's another weird association). I've thought of a better way to arrange them that will hopefully empty out the wine rack a little and get the ones on the floor onto the wine rack/shelf. Mwahaha.
Edit: Omg, mistake. 'Put away clothes,' turned into clean closet/shift to winter clothes/clean room. All good, though. About 1/4th done with my books. I have a bookpile/bookalanche and a dozen same size series piles. All of the different sized series already went up double stacked on the top two shelves. Woo. *yawn*

Nikki and Joey had a sweet little wedding. Nanner, Darcy, Lenny and I rode together. It was only about ten minutes from my house. Justin, who was a groomsman, was standing by the door greeting people, which instantly relieved a bit of the awkwardness the four of us were all feeling. We took our seats and I soon got in touch with Donovan only to find he was hopelessly lost and would miss the ceremony.
The ceremony was short but beautiful. As Nikki came down the aisle, the happiest smile spread across Joey's face, and I nearly cried.
Donovan finally found the place with my directions instead of google's sometime after the ceremony but before the reception. After all the photos were taken, the reception began. The first dance song was "A Black Man's Breakfast" by Foxy Shazam, and that was fantastic. Nikki and Joey began the dance and other people slowly joined. I danced with Justin and just before the end of the song I dragged a reluctant Donovan up to dance with me.
There was more dancing and some eating and eventually there was...karaoke! Nikki and Joey met doing karaoke, and they do it all the time, so it was incredibly appropriate. By far the best act was Jesse and Joey singing "I'm too Sexy" while a horrified Tyler stood in the corner willfully refusing to join in the other boys' hilarious singing and dancing.
By the end of the night Nikki and Joey had changed into normal clothes and packed for their short honeymoon in Helen. We all said goodbye and watched them drive off.
After the wedding Donovan, Nanner, Jesse, Justin and I went to see Where the Wild Things Are (still all dressed up). We got to see it for free and we were the only ones in the theater which was a treat. The movie was beautiful and surprisingly hilarious.
For Monday night we ate food and carved pumpkins. Nanner's pumpkin is the only 100% successful one. Donovan was too ambitious about our pumpkin, but he turned out alright. I toasted pumpkin seeds in the oven and they were tasty. Donovan stayed over. We read for a while before turning out the lights and promptly falling asleep. It was nice waking up with him this morning, reaching out to feel his warm body.
Now it's today and it's cold and raining and I feel nauseous and terrible and I have to work, but I just want to lie down for the next one hundred years.
( we looked snazzy for the wedding )
